Due to the rapidly evolving developments and public health implications in the potential spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and our responsibility to the general public well-being, we are closed as a public health precaution in response to the recommendations from the CDC and the Illinois Department of Public Health.  All access to the public with respect to programs, services, and facilities were suspended effective Sunday, March 15, 2020 at 6pm. Posted re-opening dates are pending no setbacks with moving into Phase 4 of the Governor's Restore Illinois Plan.


Football/Cheerleading registration is open. Programs begin at the end of July.

Pavilion Dance Centre recital dancers for the 2019/2020 year return to finish the season beginning June 22, 2020. Dance families should contact the dance office if you have not received an email titled; "Return to Recital Plans".

Spring Youth Athletics Leagues have been cancelled for the season: House Baseball, House Softball, Travel/House Soccer.


Art in the Park - cancelled

Pavilion Fitness and Pavilion Aquatics Center open for fitness members and aquatic member lap swimming. Learn more about the changes on their websites.

Phase 4: Garden Terrace at the Pavilion is accepting party bookings of 50 or less guests. 

Phase 4: Target opening date for in-person recreation is July 6.

Fox Run Golf Links golf course is open with new safety guidelines. Visit the website to book a tee time online or call the ProShop at (847) 228-3544 for booking with Elk Grove resident prices.

Rainbow Falls will remain closed for the 2020 Summer Season. 

All other facilities are currently closed until further notice. 


Phase 4 Update: Park amenities including basketball courts, inline hockey rinks, outdoor skate park and playgrounds are open.

Phase 4 Update: Fountain Square Park splashpad is now open through Labor Day. Visit the webpage for hours of operation.

Tennis Courts have been reopened for singles and doubles match play. Please abide by the rules posted. 

The park adjacent to the Hattendorf Center is not available to the public from 7:30am-5:30pm, Monday through Friday due to program use.

Colony Park: Thursday, August 6th, Colony Park will have a team member on-site from ILM for a site assessment and plant inventory. At that time some follow-up herbicide application may occur.

Johnson Park: we have hired a company to provide Canada goose control services.  Wild Goose Chase, Inc. provides goose management services to minimize the goose population and the issues that they cause utilizing a trained dog to chase the geese out of the park.  Wild Goose Chase, Inc. will be visiting the park at least once daily and will be working through the end of 2020.

Jaycee and Fairchild Parks: American Sealcoating workers will be on site color coating the tennis courts during the week of Aug 3, 2020.  

Mather Park: American Sealcoating workers will be on site color coating the tennis courts during the week of Aug 10, 2020

By the State of Illinois order, individuals may leave their residence to engage in outdoor activity such as walking, hiking, running, or biking and may go to public parks and open outdoor recreation areas if they comply with the Social Distancing Requirements however some playgrounds are closed due to programming.

Is Pavilion Fitness Open?

Pavilion Fitness Center will be reopened Monday, June 29, 2020 in accordance with Phase 4 of the Governor's Reopening Plan. Learn more about the reopening and modifications on the Pavilion Fitness website

Is Fox Run Golf Links Open?

Fox Run Golf Links operations resumed May 1, 2020. Visit the Fox Run Golf Links website for updates. We are now booking for foursomes. The Pro Shop and Fox Run Driving Range are now open. Social Distancing practices are in place at the facilities.

Will you be extending AARP tax appointments?

Tax appointments are operated through AARP not the Elk Grove Park District.The Park District is only a host location for the appointments. AARP has cancelled all tax appointments.  We recommend that you visit tax prep page for more information. Please note that the Federal Government has extended tax filing until July 15, 2020.  

How do I receive a credit for programs, rentals and memberships during the closures?

All cancelled programs are being credited to your RecTrac account unless you have been contacted by a Coordinator to make alternate arrangements. You can request a refund by contacting Customer Service at 847-437-9494. Rentals that were scheduled during the Executive Order mandate are being handled individually. We are not charging cancellation or rescheduling fees at this time. 

Please note: In some instances credits will be issued in the form of a check regardless of initial form of payment.

Why is the Elk Grove Park District taking these precautions?

The Elk Grove Park District takes the health and well-being of our community very seriously. We are following all directives from the CDC (Center for Disease Control), IDPH (Illinois Department of Public Health.  We also are following all guidelines set forth by the National, State and Local governmental agencies.

Are the parks and playgrounds open?

All parks and open spaces are open for public use. Playgrounds, basketball courts, inline hockey rinks, and the outdoor skatepark are open as of Fri, June 26, 2020. Fountain Square Park splashpad is also now open through Labor Day. We also recommend that you practice social distancing when you are in any of the parks.
