ANNOUNCEMENT - DISTRICT CLOSING

CLOSED SUN, MARCH 15 at 6pm - APRIL 30, 2020 (or until further notice)

Due to the rapidly evolving developments and public health implications in the potential spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and our responsibility to the general public well-being, we are closing as a public health precaution in response to the recommendations from the CDC and the Illinois Department of Public Health.  All access to the public with respect to programs, services, and facilities are suspended effective Sunday, March 15, 2020 at 6pm.  

Operations are tentatively scheduled to resume at all Elk Grove Park District facilities beginning May 1, 2020 or until further notice. 

Programs

All programs scheduled to occur through April 30, 2020 have been cancelled.

Events

All events scheduled to occur through May 10, 2020 have been cancelled.

Facilities

All facilities are currently closed through April 30, 2020 (or until further notice). 

Parks

Playgrounds and the Audubon Outdoor Skate Park are closed through April 30, 2020 (or until further notice).
By the State of Illinois order, individuals may leave their residence to engage in outdoor activity such as walking, hiking, running, or biking and may go to public parks and open outdoor recreation areas if they comply with the Social Distancing Requirements however playgrounds are closed.


Frequently Asked Questions During the COVID-19 Closure

Is Pavilion Fitness Center Open?

The Fitness Center is closed at this time to protect the health and well being of staff and members. We will attempt to reopen May 1, 2020 at 5:30am. During the closure, payments have been suspended. Members who have paid in full will have membership extended equal to the duration of the closure. All members will receive notification via email on our reopening. Information will also be posted here on our website. 

Is Fox Run Golf Links Open?

Fox Run Golf Links and the Fox Run Driving Range are currently closed. Operations are expected to resume April 8, 2020. Visit the Fox Run Golf Links website for updates.    

Will you be extending AARP tax appointments?

Tax appointments are operated through AARP not the Elk Grove Park District.The Park District is only a host location for the appointments. AARP has cancelled all tax appointments.  We recommend that you visit aarp.org tax prep page for more information. Please note that the Federal Government has extended tax filing until July 15, 2020.  

How do I receive a credit for programs, rentals and memberships during the closures?

All programs through April 30 will be automatically refunded. All park district events through May 7 have been cancelled. All rentals through April 30 are being refunded or rescheduled without cancellation or rescheduling fees (based on the request of the customer). Why is the Elk Grove Park District taking these precautions?

The Elk Grove Park District takes the health and well-being of our community very seriously. We are following all directives from the CDC (Center for Disease Control), IDPH (Illinois Department of Public Health.  We also are following all guidelines set forth by the National, State and Local governmental agencies.

Are the parks and playgrounds open?

All parks and open spaces do remain open for public use. All playgrounds are closed due to the Executive Order. We also recommend that you practice social distancing when you are in any of the parks.

If I have a rental scheduled during the closure what should I do?
